Rutger Beke

Throughout his career, Rutger Beke has always raced at the "pointy end" of each and every race. Known as the best cyclist/runner at the Ironman distance, Beke has compiled an impressive list of wins and podium finishes at both the half Ironman and full Ironman distances. His finishes include a 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th at the Ford Ironman World Championships, 1st place Ironman Cozumel 2009, 1st place Ironman Arizona in 2007, 1st place at the innagural Monaco Half Ironman, 2nd place Wildflower Long Course Triathlon, 3rd place California Half Ironman and winner Belgian Olympic Distance Championship. Beke currently lives and trains in Leuven, Belgium with his wife Sofie and their beautiful daughters Tille and Farah.

Hello from sunny Cozumel! I’m happy to report that I just claimed my second Ironman victory here in Cozumel! I have closed out a disastrous 2009 season with a fantastic result and more important I have earned my ticket for Hawaii 2010!

Rutger Beke victorious at inaugural Half Ironman Monaco

Emotions run high as Beke runs away with victory September 4, 2005 - Belgian Rutger Beke won the inaugural Half Ironman Monaco this past weekend and in doing so put 10-months of frustration, anger and sadness behind him. Half Ironman Monaco was Beke’s first race back after spending the better part of 2005 fighting a false positive EPO test from the Knokke Triathlon in Belgium in September of last year.
