Escape from Alcatraz was no disappointment this year, despite not taking the win for a 3rd time. I was very happy with 2nd.
The weekend prior I raced in the Rev 3 Triathlon (half ironman distance) in Connecticut. That was a bit of a disaster, as I trained pretty much through it. I ended up in 7th place. It was one very toughest races I have done, over a super hilly bike and run course, and as I found out, not the sort of race you dont want to do on tired legs.

A big Howdy - post - Aloha - from Montana!
It has taken me a few days to gather my thoughts about the Ironman World Championships that took place last weekend. What a remarkable day (that many of you were there to witness) that took place. Last Saturday I completed my 4th Ironman World Championship crossing the finish line in 11th place. I certainly did not have the race that I dreamed of out there, but Saturday was a good reminder of how tough this sport really is. Particularly the event in Kona.

I am back home in Montana after our trip to the Calgary 70.3.
What a great event it was. What a great race (for me) it wasn't. Ahhh, such is life. Actually, I raced pretty well, the problem is that the competition keeps raising the bar and getting better and better. All in all, this is great for sport.
I have lots of things to be happy about:
I am injury free.
I am training well for Kona.
I have a great support network - Chris, my family, sponsors, Lance, Missoula friends, my pup Madison.
I love my job.
I get to travel to new places and meet all sorts of inspiring new people.

Kim Loeffler victorious at Desert Classic Duathlon
Loeffler reaping benefits of a new training camp and new coach
February 25, 2009 – Phoenix, AZ – After a disappointing outing at the Ironman World Championship in Kona last year, Kim Loeffler was determined to make some changes in 2009. Based in Colchester Vermont, Loeffler typically deals with below freezing temps and snowy, windy conditions during her early season training. This year however, Loeffler decided to commit herself to a three month long stint in Tucson Arizona under the guidance of her new coach Cliff English.

Hola mis amigos!
The 2009 race season is upon us. Hard to believe! I raced the Pucon 70.3 in Chile over the weekend, and came second, for the second year in a row. As I told the race director, Pedro: I will be back!! I will win this race!

I am currently enjoying my time out in Cairns, Australia after a year that saw some great results, good results, and ones I would rather forget. Its really nice to chill out and see my parents for the first time in a couple of years. They have been my biggest fan well before I took the road of being a professional triathlete.

Greetings,
I am writing you to fill you in on my exciting day that landed me 5th overall and the fastest American at the Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii! I think it is safe to say that I am still on cloud nine about my breakthrough performance.

Loeffler working back to form after early season injuries
May 20, 2008 – Kim Loeffler has long been known for her ability to run down the pack at the end of any race. But this past Sunday at the Ford Ironman 70.3 in Orlando Florida, it was Loeffler’s impressive 2:26:33 bike split (2nd fastest among the pro women) that kept her within striking distance of the lead women.
In her own words:
